Spa Chemicals

Owners of a hot tub do not need an advanced chemistry degree to keep their spa clean. They simply need to purchase some off-the-shelf chemicals available from spa retailers. These chemicals kill organisms that could transmit diseases between hot tub users.

Most people have heard of chlorine because it is so commonly used in swimming pools. Chlorine can also be used as spa chemicals. However, the concentration is different so there are chlorine granules made specifically for Jacuzzis.

Other spa chemicals include bromine and biguanide. Carefully monitor the use of these chemicals and don't let anyone tell you that because the water is hot it is free of disease. Chemicals are absolutely required to eliminate dangerous microorganisms.
